Omega Music Library vol. 14 YOKAI Stems
Introducing YOKAI, the 14th release in the Omega Music Library series. Inspired by the haunting atmosphere of Shōwa-kaiki—a genre of 1970s Japanese cinema defined by quiet suspense, eerie folklore, and melancholic beauty—this collection explores the strange and subtle side of sound.
Composed in Japan and built around the rare Yamaha Suiko ST-20, a koto-tuning synthesizer designed in the early '80s, YOKAI blends ghostly organ progressions, detuned shakuhachi-inspired leads, and melodies that feel pulled from a forgotten temple corridor.
Each sample was processed entirely through vintage gear, including a 1979 AKAI GX-635D reel-to-reel on Maxell XLI 35-180B tape, preserving every hiss and wobble. Haunting and restrained, the compositions evoke ancient spirits, elusive foxes, and dimly lit forests hiding old secrets.
Vintage analog gear and modules used on this pack include: Yamaha Suiko ST-20, Prophet 5 Rev.3, Roland Super Jupiter, Solina String Ensemble, Roland VP-330, KORG Trident, AKG C414 and C451-E microphones, Suitcase Rhodes MKI, RE-201 Space Echo, and a 1982 upright Yamaha acoustic piano.
Omega Music Library has collaborated with artists including Royce Da 5'9", Curren$y, Skyzoo, Saigon, Del the Funky Homosapien, Statik Selektah, Studio Ghibli, and more.
This pack contains 10 full compositions, each provided with separated stems, labeled with BPM and key, ready for sampling or scoring. Hassle-free sample clearance is guaranteed. Files are rendered at 44.1kHz / 24-bit.
